People often ask me how I got into photography. Truthfully, I think my journey as a photographer began long ago. Shooting for me has looked like everything from my plastic Barbie film camera in the mountains to disposables in Africa, a Kodak point-and-shoot for my junior high shenanigans, years of saving for my first Canon Rebel, and finally, a full-frame for my first solo wedding (and hopefully for the years to come). But the real journey has been in the people, the experiences, the disaster sessions, the encouraging emails, the face palm mistakes, the travels, and the days of wondering if I'll ever be able to move forward. The days paralyzed by comparison, and the days when I'm energized and fueled beyond belief. The days of my childhood when I first discovered my love for art and the moment when I realized how much I love to meet people and hear [+ tell] their stories. The many days spent starry-eyed at weddings, enchanted by every detail, and the long hours it took to turn a hobby into a business.
The best part is that this is just the beginning and I couldn't be more excited! The Lord has blessed me beyond belief with opportunities and the best clients I could ask for. To all of you who have believed in me, encouraged me, entrusted me with your time, money, and memories: THANK YOU! From the bottom of my heart. For real. You all are such a blessing to me!
Here's to life being lived, stories being told, and memories being preserved. (And to this website being launched!) Hip-hip-hooray!
